Is it helping with all the brake dust?

Jhoo Jan 12, 2006 09:04 AM

Ill second that, Ive been using it on mine every week when giving her some TLC. Brush can be required too, but brake dust comes off easily.

I don't know what kind of brake dust you guys are getting but mine comes
over very easily with just some dishwashing liquid and some paper towels..
Your rims actually need brushes and harsh chemicals?????

soap and water wasnt cutting it for me, but then again maybe im to anal. Im not talking about agressive brushing but a nice light spray and then a rinse and then a lil rub and Im pleased.

How often do you clean the rims?? I'm as anal as it gets, i don't stop unless every spec of brake dust is off, but it comes off very easily for me,, however
i wash my car at least every 1-2 weeks...try using dishwashing liquid,, i usually
use that along with paper towels for the rims, then i dump the bucket out and
use car wash concentrate on the rest of the car, using a wool car wash mitt..

Thanks for the tip Tony, will try this weekend. Im washing every 1-2 weeks too. Have not tried the paper towel trick yet.

Cheers!

I use Meguiar's wheel cleaner to get the area's you can't reach. like inside the wheels, plus it's alot faster and easier.

Great cleaner, wish it came in a bigger bottle...

My wheels are chrome are yours? I think that is why I am having a little bit of trouble.

couldnt you just use paper towels and wipe off the dust without any cleaner...maybe some water....

Since when isn't dishwashing liquid a harsh chemical? It completely strips off any wax from the wheel. And I find that a coat of wax really helps the brake dust from adhering.
