That diagram isn't correct. Its very, very simplified. The real wiring diagram shows the negative end of the sill plates running directly to the ECU. The negative from the dome is a separate wire and also runs into the ECU. I guess they did this just to demonstrate the logic- where the "logic" is actually programmed and not wired up as a circuit like we would tend to think from this diagram.

As far as where the white wire from the sill plates goes, I would really like to know. It stops somewhere in the car lol.

this supposedly straight-forward mod is getting more complicated by the day; it's as if Lexus intentionally made it difficult.

lexus probably did not anticipate people buying replacement parts as mods for cars not originally equipped with them. just like you just wouldn't buy the factory HID light cluster, plug it in and wonder why it doesn't work on the non-HID cars.

remember, the illuminated scuff plates are not upgrade/option parts.

I am still looking to do this mod if someone has figured out how to get it to work like it's supposed to.

Any new info from the people who've been working on this?

I've pretty much stuck to my DIY mod posted on page 1 or 2. The scuffs are on when I drive (though I can't see it). What matters is that they are on when I open the door.

Does anyone in the NoVA area want to let me borrow theirs, or buy theirs. I will pay collateral until I am done. I am going to Lexus on Monday, unfortunately, if I order today, I probably wont get the sills in time.

I went to Lexus Yesterday, as a part of my purchase agreement, they would swap out my silver center console with a black console lid. So I had an appointment scheduled for yesterday. Unfortunately the lid was not installed, since they ordered another silver lid =(

So I asked them about the Illumniated sills and they said they would look at it when I came in.

So no one in this thread went to the dealer to ask about those Personalized settings?

Did anyone get the dealer to enable the setting? Earlier in the thread someone mentioned that they were going to have the dealer enable it, did we ever see a resolution from this?

I know that the connection is not at the fuse block, but it's worth a shot to have it enabled.

Successfully installed the front two plates with illumination this afternoon- ended up looking very much like lexus27's work found on page 2 of this thread

Were they PnP, or did you have to rewire?

I had to do the rewiring, just like lexus27...really, really simple- the hardest part being the degree to which I wanted to hide the wires and make it look as un-altered as possible.
