Default GS350 vs IS350

GS350 will have about the same HP as the IS350. and they are very close in weight. $5k more for a GS350 with more leg room and similar performance is very interesting. Especially with rumors suggesting the release date of April 2006. I don't think my ordered IS350 won't get here until February or March. Might as well wait for the GS350 instead.

GS350 since I'm partial. I value the extra space, more mature look, and luxuriousness.

I've heard that the 450H is a spring '06 release, but that's the first I heard about the 350. Others have stated that the GS350/460 are expected in the fall of '06 (coinciding w/ the '07 model year).

The GS350 will be great, but I would still stick with the IS350. I don't need the extra room, it will cost less, and will most likely have a less intrusive VDIM system (like that seen on the current model).

IS350--because IS350 impresses me more than GS430 already.

Regardless of when the GS350 will be available, it will be a tough choice between the 2 for me. I think their performances will be pretty close, I' d always prefer the exterior design of the IS350, but the GS's interior is noticeably more upscale with materials - better plastics, more leather & wood , plus more rear space for my passengers.

If I could get the GS without wood trim, I'd buy it over an IS.

2006 GS: starting at $43,845
2006 IS350: starting at $36,030
That's almost $8,000 difference. For 8K difference i'll take the IS. IS is sportier than the GS, which what i like, that's why i choose the IS. I'll have both luxuries and sporty. If u like more luxury then GS is yours choice.

I was talking about a comparably optioned IS and GS.
GS with NV, ML, Park assist, rain sensing wipers , power rear sunshade is $45,672 at Carsdirect and I can easily get that at any local dealership.

The IS350 is $44,835 MSRP, with NV LT PA and HW. Pretty close don't you think?
I said $5000 more because I know I can get the IS350 for $40K with the above options, no problem.

Invoice for an IS350 with the above options is $38,948
Invoice for the GS300 with the above options is $44,049
The IS350 is very deceiving because the options add almost $10K
I am starting to lean more towards the GS especially if the GS350 in going to be the same price as the GS300.

I’ve been waiting since Oct for my order and they tell me it won’t be here until February. Might as well wait until Fall for GS350.

After sitting in the GS yesterday and listening to the ML, seeing the extra space, I’m leaning towards the GS more and more. I just can’t stand the lack of space in the IS, my G35 has more room inside then the IS.

Oh bTW, WOW!!! on the ML in the GS...WOW!! I was blown away watching the DTS Demo DVD, sound is killer.

Looking at the size, dynamics and shape of the body, the IS will still be the more athletic and tossable car even if GS is pretty close in the engine specs. Also, GS will be heavier as well. Therefore, GS350 would be inbetween GS300 and IS350 when it comes to performance and there would be a trade off of larger size vs more performance and agility.

if your gonna get a GS, you gotta get a GS430, go big or go home is what I always say. the Is350 fits the 3,5L motor so much better. thats like comparing the G35 with the M35. If your getting an M, you get the M45.

but the GS350 has more HP and is faster than the GS430. Fuel consumption will be less and the lighter V6 will make the GS350 less nose heavy and more tossable than the GS430.
