Default here's a first...

well i just had my IS tinted a few weeks ago. unfortunately, in the process my window tinter etched the passenger side front window with a razor blade. it left a 2 inch gash in the window. the window had to be replaced. i dropped my car off at the body shop last week and according to the parts guy at lexus this was the first 06' IS window to be ordered. woooo hoooo!... bascially i was the first to have a window focked up on an 06 IS... for future reference guys, the new window was $250 from Lexus. Not really anything to be happy about, but hey its still a first..

Yep, Ive been going to him for years... He ordered the window right when he realized it was etched. If anyone needs parts for an 06 IS keep in mind that its going to take a couple weeks to ship. It took about 3 weeks from japan.

haha...same situation happnened to me, but on a different part. There was a oil stain near my gas cap and they needed to repaint that section, so they took off the panel. Problem is, is that the clips that hold the moulding in place, aren't reusable...so they repainted the piece...then had to wait 2 weeks for the clips to come in from japan.

Moral of the story: before you take your car in for minor work...make sure they order the parts before hand...otherwise you'll be driving around in an ES for what seems like forever. =)
