Default Fog Lights - Yellow film?

I want my fogs to emit the classic yellow light; the same colour as the 1st gens. However, I don't want to go through the trouble of removing the wheel well covers or removing the bumper just to access the lights; so, I am thinking of getting a transparent yellow film. Basically, this film is the same type of material that's used for clear bras. The thing is, I do not know where to get them. Can anyone shed some light towards this issue? TIA

Talk to our CL Vendor Aerotect. They will ship to Canada as well. They have shipped out yellow fog film kits out there on several occassions.

Yes I found precuts through Ebay for my Matrix before, at first I thought it would be cheezy but then thought it looked pretty hip specially because it still lokked yellow without turning it on. Does this hinder the light output in anyway?

You can look for a local plastics store that sell colored acetate film. In California we have chain stores called Tap Plastics which carry acetate sold by linear foot.

Here's an web example http://www.tapplastics.com/shop/product.php?pid=254&

The only thing you have to do is cut it out and figure a way to stick it over the fog lenses.

The problem with this type of film it will warp/burn from the heat intensity of the halogen bulb. That's not designed for automotive lighting purposes.

The yellow film is dual purpose, it gives you the yellow light color, and at the same time it will keep your foglight lens from getting pitted. Here is the yellow film installed by Aerotect on my Carson Tuned foglight setup:

The film can be cut for any car. Give Aerotect a call.

www.aerotect.net or use their old URL www.aeroshield.com

Here is an install on a PT Cruiser:

flipside is correct, you can't just use any yellow film, or those for tinting, on the fogs. those fogs get pretty darn hot after use and it will warp and bubble/melt the film -- nasty. do it right and get those real film for headlights protection

i have that for my sc430 as well, from aerotect. nice stuff

one thing to keep in mind, if you are looking the kind of yellow on the 98-05 gs300/400/430, or the 01-05 is300, you will be disappointed. these films will make the light output yellower, but it won't have the deep yellow from those foglights where there is a completely yellow lens inside.

however, i am still very happy with that on my sc430. it still looks pretty close to my gs400, and it spells more lexus to me (old school)

What brand of bulbs do the 01-05 IS300 and the GS's use?
