Mine are tinted (35%). It makes dark cars and light cars alike look great. I got a ceramic based tint so it wouldn't interfere with reception.

Inside that black box affixed to the windshield behind your rearview mirror.

I had 3M on my 94 Supra TT it was perfect- i heard 3M is not good anymore?
I had Suntek on my 02 BMW 330i it was pretty good.
What do you guys recommened , as far as brand of tint? What company do you like/trust/quality
Also any marylanders here recommened a tint shop, i am not going back to HP racing (HPRcustoms.com) they got a bunch of punk kids with no expierence doing tint. I had my BMW there with 1000 miles on her had the tint done , and the AZZ hole installer scratched my trunk with his belt buckle ( Jet Black BMW). I raised hell , they tried to buff it out , but never close to original condition, they gave me $ off . Still ruined my new bavarian creamer!!

Thanks for the info Flipside. My next question is does it really matter what type of tint you use as long as you don't put it on the windshield?

you want to buy Huper Optik ceramic tints. Find a dealer in your area who is authorized

I had Huber Optic on my A4 that I got rid of last week. The delaer threw in tint for me which will be done next month. I don't know what they are using, but I assume that it is quality since it is the dealer installing (or someone contracted to do tints for them).

As for metallic tints. The problem is interference with the in glass antennas that new cars have these days. It can cause interference and the inability to pick up some AM and FM stations. I have also read where people have problems with their key remotes becuase of the interference. The cermaic does not interfere at all.

Here's a picture of the tint on my White 250 AWD. It''s 35%. Rear window is cereamic so as to not interfere with radio reception.
