(*) Lexus can SUCK IT for not offering a manual transmission in the IS350. I had one on special order since the end of November, but after reading various online forums (including this one) and hearing about the shifting behavior of the AT, I went for another test drive and paid attention. The transmission shifts slowly and doesn't stay in the gear you put it in! Whichever engineer decided the behavior should be "paddles/shifter determine the highest gear" instead of "paddles/shifters determine the exact gear" should be FLOGGED.

Put the G35 or 330i AT tranny in the IS350, and I'd almost consider it perfect. As it is, I settled for the underpowered (IMO) IS250 so I could get the manual. The low power situation can be easily rectified.

(This coming from an enthusiast who has previously owned or spent significant seat time in all manual transmission cars: Datsun 280zx, BMW 325i, Honda Predule VTEC, Honda S2000, Mini Cooper S). Isn't Lexus marketing the IS350 towards the "enthusiast"?!?! Argh.

7. if you have an iPod, get a ground loop isolator from crutchfield. plus, this car's fa-aa-aa-ast!
8. you seen one Tungsten, you seen 'em all. Although it's unique in Raleigh, NC. Envious of all the Smokeys, but RDU isn't a big market and the 350 is tough to find. Had to fly to DC to get mine.

Pretty much pleased as punch with it. Only thing better would be an M5 or M6.

Coud some of you who own a smoky granite mica IS post some pics ? I have long hesitated between black and smoky and finally ordered the smoky granite but I would really appreciate seeing more pics of that colour.

Stupid question here........did you put the tint on the outside or inside the lights?
