I'm disappointed beasue it is too expensive for me to afford. Also, it is weird that it is more expensive than the BMW. Even with the GS's price jump it is still $7,000 cheaper. I would expect that the IS250 be about $3,000 cheaper than the 325i.
The new IS250 will be pretty well equipped standard. If they offer a more stripped down version as base, maybe it can start at $30K.

i am pretty sure the is250/350 will be priced under the bmw equivalent.
basically i fyou look at the 3 series with comparable options, it's hard to get more expensive without someone yelling crazy
I was first attracted here by seeing the new GS on the road. After researching I realized that it was just too expensive for me. I just can't see paying over 40K for a car at this point in my life.
The new IS looks about to be perfect.
I will tell you if I can get a IS250 AWD with Navi for mid 30's i'll be sold.
But I am worried about Lexus jacking up the prices like they did on the GS. Good news is that only ~200 HP should indicate that is won't be too expensive. Not many people will willing to buy a mid to high 30K car that only has 200 HP.

I guess we will find out a bit more on the 23rd.
hi and welcome to the clublexus. personally i think mid 30 would be a good price to shoot for on the is250 awd. hope that's the case, good luck!
this is my first post.........anyways...i was getting close to getting an g35 or TL.....but i thought i might wait to see about the new IS.....all i can say is that if the IS250 does not have at least 240 hp and be under 34K loaded forget it....im not gonna overpay for an under powered car...if i wanted to do that i could buy a TSX.

welcome to clublexus. from what you mentioned, probably it's the best for you to look elsewhere. i from the data i have seen so far i dont' think the is250 is going to have that much power

If you wait another 2 years then you'd be able to get an IS300 (w/245HP) for about that.
Pre-collision system, which is a mm-wave radar system that can calculate the distance & speed at which the car is approaching an object & determines if a collision is imminent . If so, the system will automatically apply maximum braking force the instant the brake pedal is touched, while retracting the front seatbelts to help prepare the occupants simultaneously.

so you think they will replace the is250 with the is300 here?
What else are they going to do with the now brand new 3.0 V6 engine once they replace it with the 350 in the GS next year ? I think it's logical to assume there will eventually be a new IS300 . . .

well i am just think, if they put the is300 here, they will still say with is350?
coz' if that's the case, then for the life of me i wouldn't be able to understand why they build the is250 for here to begin with?!
I think there'll be enough differentiation among IS250/300/350 for all of them to coexist. The IS250 will always be a popular choice in fuel economy concious Europe & rest of the world, they don't even have the RX330, only the RX300 with the same body style.

Fuel economy is going to become an issue here, too. It's coming sooner than a lot of people think.
