JDM IS350 ECM to USDM ECM Swap
HI, i recently got the unfortunate diagnosis that my ecm module is kaput on my jdm 2006 is350.
I was wondering if i could just swap a usdm ecm to replace it since i cannot find any jdm is350 ecms for sale, if so what would be the part number
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Or ******* dot com for some reason this place blocks that site. It does let you select different locations.

Using a USDM ECM in a JDM car will likely result in a CEL unfortunately. JDM cars don't have the EVAP equipment required for the EVAP check to occur.
You can do the reverse (JDM ECU into USDM car), though it will also set codes for missing the battery current sensor (but not trip the CEL).

I'm guessing there is pump, and pressure information so no static input would satisfy the ECM. Does that sound about right? I could probably sketch up a timer circuit for startup and shut down.

Hey Jeff, any chance you know what pins on ECM one could be looking at to send US ECM and *potentially keep it happy?

Define harmless? Haha! Hopefully it doesn't criple car in some way.

Well, ****.
I got someone who specializes in ecu repair to check it out, and he says there's nothing wrong with it, and the poor voltage readings are due to the wiring harness loading up voltage, when it's not plugged into it, ecm gives 5v reading, when plugged in its a 1.2v reading, resistance is also super high as well compared to the other connectors (in kilo-ohm range instead of m-ohm)
Bastard mechanic shop didn't check it properly.
in summary.....
Good news:
-No jdm to usdm ecm horse**** to deal with.
Bad news:
-Faulty wiring horse**** to deal with.
-Finding someone competent ( and not outrageously expensive) to fix it.
I appreciate everyone's help on this matter as all of your inputs have been super valuable to me, once this is over i will finally be able to intall my ebay headers and downpipe.
(perhaps maybe even document it)
p.s ( I hate car electrical, the parts cannon never works on it)
