2013 AWD, 250...this pic is of the front diff area right where the front wheel driveshaft goes into the case. You can't tell it super good from this pic, but it is wet inside that narrow seam between the driveshaft and the housing, and looks like it's running down from there. But then it's pooling up on the bottom of the case right there (where it's about to drip) and makes it look like it's leaking from the case seam...I hope not. Is this a common item? My main questions are; you guys think it's coming from the driveshaft? Is there a seal right inside there that can be replaced? It's not super strong, but it does smell like gear oil. That would be correct, right? The driveshaft does into the front diff, so this would be gear oil leaking and not tranny fluid/transfer case fluid? Hoping that shaft comes out and just pop a seal out like any traditional case/diff. Thanks guys.
Pinion seal leak. Pretty straight forward job. Same challenges when refilling the front axle; just getting to the fill port, but not impossible. Only thing that was slightly weird was the front axle quantity. Book calls for 24oz's...at 28oz's it was still not coming out the fill hole. I ran out, so that's all she gets, LOL.
