I have a 2008 IS with the three speakers per door and the sub (I think this is the premium sound system). Does anyone have the Hz specs for the speakers and the sub? I'm trying to set the crossover and hz filters on the new head unit. I'm no longer using the factor amp, but continuing to use the factor speakers.
C'mon man, you post this kind of technical question, and you only "think" you have a premium system
On the centar console, next to Lexus logo, is there a Mak Levinson logo?

I def do not have the ML sound system. Plus I replaced my head unit to get CarPlay support.
Lexus speaker part numbers are below. I can't find any of the frequency specifications for these speakers. Front Door Tweeter: 86160P Front Door Middle: 86160J Front Door Bottom: 86160 Rear Door Tweeter: 86160Y Rear Door Middle: 86160Z Rear Door Bottom: 86160B Subwoofer: 86160R
Congrats on finding a head to fit. Did it come with a plug and play harness. That's typically a challenge. A sub is typically below 100hz. If the speakers have tweeter and mid all in one. It's already got a crossover so, just set the head to 90 Hz and the speakers will do the rest. For reference, Crutchfield.com may be helpful.
I have an aftermarket amp now (JBL). The crossover is set to 80 Hz. What should the High Pass Filter Hz be set to? The headhunt had a plug-and-play harness but had to pull the factory backup camera out of the factory harness to put an RCA jack on it.
The amplifiers in the IS are multi-channel and have internal active crossovers. This means each speaker is powered separately and only plays the range of sounds they are supposed to play. The only exception is the individual door mid and tweeter speakers, which are on the same amplifier channel, use the same wires coming out of the amplifier, and use a passive crossover placed on the rear of the mid to send the correct sounds to the tweeter. The standard audio system has seven channels and the ML system has eight channels.
Since I have the standard audio system I can only comment on the quality of those speakers. The speakers in the ML system are undoubtedly better. The standard audio system’s speakers are made by Pioneer and are of better than average quality. The front and rear door woofers are made from polypropylene plastic which will give many years of use without degrading. The mids are 2.5” paper cones that play from about 500 Hz and up.
So, nothing will blow up by default? Is that low/high pass for everything, or only for sub? What you could do is find the youtube video with frequency sweep and play that to determine the audible range, and set cut offs to that (don't blame me if you blow out anything )
Okay. Let's make sure I understand this correctly.
The doors each have three speakers, a mid-sized woofer, mid, and tweeter, with the mid and tweeter sharing a connection to the AMP. The door woofers have their own connection to the AMP. The mid and tweeter can support 500 Hz and above while the door woofer and rear trunk woofer can support the normal subwoofer range?
The head unit has front left, front right, rear left, rear right and subwoofer outputs. My gut tells me the AMP is then splitting the signal to the door subwoofer / mid and tweeters. This also probably means the HPF is for all non-subwoofer outputs.
