IS300 sun visor
The driver's side sun visor in my 2003 IS300 is misbehaving. It stays seated in the headliner when I don't need to use it, but whenever I lower it and try to press it up toward the windshield, a spring forces it right back down to the vertical, so it blocks the entire view from the top of the steering wheel up. I consulted with the nearest Lexus dealership - about 250 miles from here - a couple of days ago. The visor needs to be replaced; unfortunately, the item has been discontinued and is no longer available from Lexus. The gentleman responsible could only suggest trying to find a replacement online. "Good luck matching the color," he added. LOL.
For what it's worth, the basic color scheme for the car is onyx blue with a predominantly ivory interior; the headliner and sun visors are a sort of darkish beige. I have seen a number of passenger side visors available online, but the only driver's side visor I've seen looked as if it had tire marks on the fabric. Does anyone out there know of a possible source for a new or newer-looking visor? I have been restoring the car, with considerable success, to like-new condition, so it would be nice to have a functional visor. Meanwhile, I'll just have to cope by wearing a chicken-thief hat at certain hours of the day. Any help with this would be very much appreciated.

Thank you, GS300. This is my first posting here; I wasn't sure where I should be whinging. We do live in hope. One of those visors must be languishing in some venue.
