Accelerator pedal jerking on its own
So, my safe mode idle issues are back. But this time I noticed that when it’s in limp (safe) mode that while I am trying to putt home and lose about 30% pedal pressure I could actually feel the Accelerator pedal jerking on its own to idle.
Now this seems Really freaky to me... I thought Lexus didn’t have issues with the pedal accelerating on its own?
And I’m baffled as to why there is no code but yet the limping persists?!?!
Could it be a bad ground?
i wouldn’t think the O2 sensor codes (P0430 & P0031) would have anything to do with the idle.
Thoughts.....???!!!!
Thanks in advance,
Christa

O2 sensors are heavily tied into how the car idles. It's a feedback loop. Make fueling correction to maintain steady idle rpm -> check o2 sensor -> make correction based on o2 sensor to fueling or ignition timing (for finer RPM adjustments). I 100% would not expect your car to operate properly if it thinks the o2 sensors are not working.
The reason you can feel movement in the medal is because the ECU is actuating the throttle motor that is connected to the pedal's cable. I've never felt it in my car but my car isn't doing what yours is...... I would assume the movement you're feeling is normal.

Okay, thank you for answering!
Now.... my only problem is that I do not have an OBD II scanner.
Many suggestions on where or how I can get this checked?

Autozone, oreilly, advanced, or whatever local parts store is by you. They will usually scan codes for free.
If you're an android phone user (I am not).... there are several "cheap" solutions that have bluetooth obd2 readers. The software on your phone is called "torque" and it's a free download.
An example that would probably work:

If you're an iphone user then I would suggest buying a hand held obd2 scanner because all the apps that would do what Torque on Android does cost money.... just use that money on a better piece of scanning hardware rather than paying for software that is given away free by other vendors like Torque.
