Transmission
Ok to the point... Is 3500 to 4000 RPM's at 70-75 mph correct or do I need to take my car to a transmission shop? Btw its an automatic. I would really appreciate some opinions please.... I really can't afford to take it in if I don't need to.
The above is a revised version of my previous post below and includes the most important question. No need to read on.
If there is a problem with my transmission wouldn't the check engine or maintenance required light come on?
I noticed this possible problem when I was driving down the freeway going about 70-75 when I tried to accelerate to go around someone and there was no get up and go at all. The thing is when it wouldn't go like I thought it should I looked and noticed it was almost at 4000 rpms which seemed sorta high. I don't know if that is or not but I turned my radio down to hear the engine and it seemed kind of loud. So I reduced my speed to around 65 and the rpms dropped below 3500 and then of course the engine wasn't as loud anymore. As I mentioned in my other post, I finally had the very noisy rear wheel bearings replaced and I haven't driven it much since then so I could just be overly sensitive and/or unfamiliar and maybe it was normal considering the speed I was going? What confuses me the most I think is on one hand (or foot haha) it felt like it should have down shifted or something because I was really putting my foot in it, but on the other hand the engine was already pretty loud and well you get what I'm saying.
Any thoughts pretty please?

Hi Tina. Question. Do you have the 4speed or 5 speed box in your car. 3000Rpm on my vehicle 1UZ-FE VVTi im running at about 120 KPH (70-75) and that is with a 4,4 to 1 ratio diff. I still have plenty kick-down at that speed. And you say you were doing 4000Rpm @ 75? Something does not sound right. Send more info please
