Question Lost master key what is the easiest cheapest fix

] lost my master key to my 2004 Lexus is 300 . I don't have a lot of extra money and someone suggested that it would be cheaper to replace the ignition then get it rekeyed at a dealership so I went ahead and replace the ignition .. I started thinking that wont my cars computer think that its stolen ? as if thinkfgs weren't bad enough I got it towed and I am in jeopardy of losing it all together if I don't get it out one what can I do ? Any suggestions ??

Sounds like there's a lot going on here. When you got your vehicle towed, did they tow it to the dealership? If not, why? Why was it towed in the first place?

2002-2005 IS300 ecus can be reseeded with new key information at the dealer using TIS, if you're brave you can do this yourself with an older version of TIS software and a laptop.

Since you've replaced the ignition cylinder you've now made it a little more complicated (not a lot just a little). What I mean by this is our door locks (on the drivers door), have a 5 digit key code stamped into them. This is the key code for your key to be cut at the dealership. Now that you've swapped your ignition switch, this code doesn't apply. Make sense?

Anyway, take the car to the dealer with the new master key that's been cut for your ignition and tell them you need the immobilizer reset and a key reseeded. This takes about 1.0 hours of labor and typical labor rates at dealer are $140/hr so $140 for reseeding.

Typically your new master key is around $150
programming it to the car is $140

so $300 for a new lexus key cut and programmed. Since you already have a master key with your new ignition switch it should be around $140.
