Default Help. Aftermarket subwoofer and amplifier installation

Hello.

I own a 2001 Lexus is300 and I have installed 2 12in Rockford fosgate subs with a 1500w Rockford fosgate amp. The amp is getting power, however the subs are not producing any sound. I have checked all connections and they are all secure. I was wondering if the stock amp/sub could be the reason my aftermarket subs aren't producing any sound. Do I have to somehow bypass the stock amp? I've never had this problem with any other car. Please help!

Are you still using the stock hu? And the rest of the speakers?

I changed my stereo out on my 01is300 a couple years ago and found that i either had to buy a converter (about $150) to bypass the stock amp or just replace all speakers when i replaced my hu. Because these cars have a stereo that runs on an odd voltage or amps i cant remember.

Where are you getting the input signal from for the aftermarket amp?

The factory amp has a digital turn on. The interface is around $50.00. BX-TY1

I replaced my head unit so I ran my signal cable from there. Are you still using the stock head unit? Or have you swapped that out as well?

I have an aftermarket hu. The speakers are all stock except for the aftermarket amp/subs. How would I bypass the stock amp?

The RCA cables are plugged into the back of the aftermarket hu. I ran those to my amp located in the trunk

If you have replaced the hu and are running the stock speakers you will need a bypass kit. Just search for 01 is300 amp bypass. I believe metra is a common one among IS owners

What HU are you using?
I had the same problem but it was mostly just the bluetooth now that i think about it..... With mine Kenwood DNX59990bt i had to go into my HU Telephone settings and turn the media playback so it plays through all speakers not just the front. hopefully this helps i also had my amp already bypassed as i did it when i installed the HU the wired rear speakers to the HU..
