My battery is going bad..my battery light is on and battery gauge is at half..my abs light ...brake light and trac comes on and off from time to time and also it wont go pass 4000 rpm all this jst started happening is it because of my battery???

Autozone can test your battery for free. If it's the battery, currently Sears is having a promotion. When you purchase a car battery you get $40 in their "shop your way" program. But the points expired within 90 days or less. Any ways I bought one for my IS, group 25 with 550 CCA with a $5 discount they had for $122 after tax.

Just a heads up, I called three Costco local to me and no one have it. They all say they only get whatever their vender brings them.

If I recall correctly, battery light means the battery charging voltage is out of spec (meaning that the alternator isn't doing its job). You can measure the voltage of the battery with a DMM when the car is running to see if it's in spec. I'd take the battery as bigguppy suggested to Autozone to get it tested as well as the alternator.

This should fix the first set of problems, and don't know if it relates to the other problems you're having.
