Default VVT on 01 IS 300

I had problems with my 01 IS300 shaking, and the engine making loud sounds (like a diesel), then appearing to stall. This would occur when I'm at a red light. I took it to the dealership and was told the problem was the VVT sprocket. I just had it replaced, along with a timing belt, and got a new battery as well. The car was at the dealership for 3 days. I picked it up this afternoon, and when I was on my way home, the car did the same thing - shakes, engine gets loud, then sounds like it's dying out. Can someone give me some advice? I'm taking it back to the dealership tomorrow and hoping to get some feedback from anyone who may have experienced this issue before dropping another grand on repairs. Thank you!
