Driver's side door not opening from inside
 

Can anyone provide some insight into this problem? One day I was just opening my door, felt a snag while pulling the door handle from the inside and has since stopped working. I removed the door panel and took a look and it's hard to see what's going on with the door mechanism, although I do see that the cable attaching to the door handle does move.
