Nice quality build.. And honestly I'd take a corvette motor all day too. Those ***** are so torque-y and sound buff as fuu.. Those sc400 ls400 motors seem like all bark and no bite.

Or the people that do the 2jz-GTE swaps.. They just don't ever seem to be tuned right, or just don't provide the same type of power you know you're getting with the ls1.. But yeah my stock is300 was hanging with a twin turbo 2jzgte swap, and the dudes excuse was "it still needs to be tuned right" lmao. I was like yup, if I ever do a swap it'll be the vette motor being dropped in.

Sorry dude, your na 2JZGE was not hanging with any twin turbo 2jzGTE unless it was running on 3 cylinders. Every motor, including Matt's LS "vette motor" (its not a vette motor) has to be tuned to run, including stock motors. Thats the purpose of the stock ECU - its pretuned from the factory. Unfortunately its not plug and play with the IS body electronics and ECUs...but guess what...neither is the LS ECU! lol.

Both motors are equally capable of 2000+hp and inexpensive to build, both great platforms. Neither is "buff" to my knowledge, but to each their own. But talking smack on a 2JZ on this board is kinda strange and uneducated.

The build has changed a few times since the last time I posted in here. It now makes 1150hp and is even further along in the quest for an 8 second pass. Just before this pass I went 9.0 @162 mph

This was a very sketchy pass lifting many times.

Great build!! That car looks like a whole lot to handle down the track!! Good job of keeping it relatively straight.. If you don't mind me asking, what are the specs on the wheels front and rear, love the set up

Superb! So how's the sound? Thor's Hammer meets Zeus's Lightning and/or Angelic Banshee's?!

This swap is costly. I'm in the process of doing a LS swap in a RX7, but my motor is the 5.7L, good luck on your build if you decide to do the swap.
