Hey guys,

I am an avid visitor to the forum but just decided to join. I drive a 2005 is300 with 180,000 miles as I was driving home today from work i noticed my radio kept on going silent for a few seconds at a time. The music wouldn't pause just the sound we be gone. As I was on the freeway going about 75mph the car turns off and turns back on within seconds. All the lights on the cluster turned off and on and the car drove fine right after. I was about 2 minutes away from my house, as soon as I parked I popped the hood and checked for anything that might've caused it but could not find anything. Can someone please help! I'd appreciate it.

 

sounds like you have a loose electrical connection - could be at or near the battery, alternator or an engine ground... could also have a battery with a dead cell, or a cell going dead that has a bad connection internally...

start with checking the battery, for sure

mines did this twice, ended up being the sensor, no code came up ether but i just tested it anyways, everything else was good

 

yea it had happened to me with my old altima. just turn on and off while driving on the highway. relatively easy fix.
