Default Hood cosmetic dmg. Help por favors?!?

Hey guys, I'm new so please if this is in the wrong section or I'm doing something wrong, don't give me **** about it, I'm new.
Anyways, today on 08/12/2013, my sister took my car to work. (01 IS300)
She came back home after work and I needed the car to go to best buy, so as I head out to the car, I noticed that there is this dent as well as the paint on the hood seared/chipped off. And I'm like wtf is going on. When i asked her what happened, she doesn't know. She didnt even notice that it was there until I discovered it. So Im like **** wtf am i gonna do now. Cuz i know its gonna be a ****** to fix this.

Now my question is:
What should I do about it? Should i bring it to a dealer and ask for a quote or bring it to a third party?
What other alternatives do I have?

Thanks.

Wow... That's a lot of damage. Surprised the driver didn't notice it. Looks like a pick up truck or SUV backed into you.

You already know the dealership is going to charge a lot and well above almost anyone else. But you can always go just to get a quote.

Best bet would be to take it to a local body shop that you trust and get a quote on how much it will cost to fix. I don't think you would need a whole new hood.

Keep us updated. Good luck.

Is it really dented? If not, it could be acid or something like that since the paint is like curled...

There is a dent. TBH its hard to believe that the car was hit because the surround areas around the damaged area is untouched. If the cause of the dent and paint scratch is due to a hit from another car, then surely other areas around the impacted area should be affected too but it's not. My guess is that someone intentionally vandalize the car, but it's a theory. I went to the Lexus dealer and they said they don't do dents or paint jobs. So they referred me to a body shop that does. And I spoke with the manager, and he told me he'll give me a discount. To fix the dent and fix the paint, he said the total would be 642 with labor included. He said normally it would be around 880 but he decided to give me a discount. In addition, he mentioned that the service will come with lifetime warranty. So if anything happens to the paint because of mix of chemicals or something he said he'll repair it for free.
Should I go with him and pay 642 or continue to look around and find more quotes. I'm kind of tempted to go with him because the price is kinda fair/good. For an additional 29 dollars, he'll polish up my head lights too. (Which sounds pretty good to me, I think it would make the car a lot better since they're kinda foggy.)
What do you guys think?
