A/C Fan Speed Dropped - Diagnosis Help
Of the many things failing on my 2004 IS300 the most pressing is the A/C Fan Speed.
The problem is the fan speed is running around half what it used to for all speed settings. Low fan is now barely noticeable, high speed is more like medium. Temps are fine, vent modes are fine.
Before the problem began there was a chirping and rattling noise coming from behind the glove box. I replaced the vent mode servo and that took care of it. I didn't notice the fan speed problem until some months later though so I don't think its related but it has been my experience that when one servo fails the rest are soon to follow.
I should also point out that the fan noise is also down proportionally. Its not like I hear it running hard on high but nothing is coming out.
I just don't know if I'm dealing with a fan speed servo, resistor, or the blower itself and I'd prefer not to replace them all!
Any tips on diagnosing the problem?
