Default Help with parts selection

i would like to replace the MAF, plugs, and wires on my car but have know idea of what brand to get for each. I did some looking on line and there is to many brands to pick from. I am a new Lexus owner and would like your input on what brand's are good for the car. Also my dad ordered me a air intake system as a new car gift. He ordered me a Dragon Intake System. Is this a good system and should I put it on the car? I would hate to hurt his feelings but I don't want to rob the performance of the car. Thanks in advance everyone.

I'm fine with OEM MAF, plugs, and wires. Unless you're car is boosted, I don't see a significant benefit from replacement unless the parts are failing. Intake isn't really going to do much, and I don't remember reading any good reviews on the Weapon R intakes. Even the $500 SRT doesn't do much for power.

If you really want an intake, JoeZ is probably the best bang for the buck, and gets ~7HP for around $110 + a dry hi-flow filter like the one from Blitz for another ~$50. Since it uses the stock airbox, you still get the benefit of cold air from the scoop under the hood.

If you want to do something that you will notice, put the money toward suspension. You will definitely notice a good set of sway bars. Coilovers or a good spring/shock combo will make a big difference too.

If you have a lot of miles on your car, you should have your car inspected for worn out bushings. You're going to want to pay special attention to the front caster arms (No. 2 LCA), front No. 1, ball joints, upper control arms, rear axle carrier where the rear LCA attaches, and the steering rack bushings. Other than Figs Engineering (site vendor) and OEM, I'm not sure which bushings I would trust. Not replacing worn out parts can end up costing you a LOT more down the road if they fail while you're driving.

I hope that helps.
