what kind of problems did ur C class have?? what you may construe as a problem, i may see as a simple glitch or vice versa. in my 01 IS300, i had almost no problems over the course of 1.5 years and 34,000 miles. the only consistent problem i had was the cd player jammin multiple times. other than that, the car was mint. even after several modifcations, the car responded incredibly well and improved in many different aspects. after the 1.5 years, i traded it in for a 2002 IS300 manual. im extremely ino the aftermarket performance scene and this car is a perfect foundation. i had the choice of the C320/240, bmw 330, s4, e36 m3, and many other rides, but i stuck with my beloved IS. the IS300 has soooo much potential its sickening. i have never once wished i got any other car.

if u get the IS, are u going to fix it up?? or leave it stock??

C-class problems so far(01 w/16k miles):
1."Check Coolant" warning message - intermittent - took 2 visits and 3 days days to fix-replaced cooling fan assy/sensors
2. Radio completely died except for an annoying thunk thunk thunk mid range sound.
3. all drivers door electronic controls died..this includes seat controls/window switches/mirror adj
4. drivers seat consistently squeeks - minor but annoying.
5. engine now stumbles like its going to die when cold at the first stop sign I hit.

not that much but they all happened within 30 days !!

I'd keep the IS300 completely stock - becuz I think it looks/handles excellent just as it rolled of the assy line !!!

I had to add xenon and 17" wheels to the MB.

one thing the IS300 or any lexus has on the MB line is the interior, i have been in many Benz and driven every Lexus out there and hands down the Lexus has the better interior.

My father is a lexus mechanic and these cars simply don't break down, do regular care and it will last forever.

I voted as having a problem just once. In fact, the "problem" was just that the allignment was off upon delivery. (By the way, this is very rare for a Lexus. They are perfect more often then not). Once I reported the problem, the dealer gave me a loaner car for the day and had my car fixed that evening. You can't ask for more.

Mine has been trouble free, only had to take it in for scheduled maintenance, or to have a goody or two installed

Sorry for the delay sooner. The dealer was Lexus of Bellevue. Hands down, they have the best service department I have ever been to. For example, the day the dealer performed the work, there was some sort of accident nearby that prevented some of their loaner cars from being able to get to the dealership. Instead of making me wait for a loaner, they had a rental car brought to me at the service department instead. When I came back later to pick up my car, I just handed the service advisor the keys to the rental. The service advisor took care of getting the rental returned and everything. None of the dealers in the Silicon Valley ever gave me service like that!

Of course, the most important part about this experience is that Lexus of Bellevue aligned and balanced all 4 wheels for free. Not only that, they gave me a printout showing the old and new values as proof and to keep for my records.
