I'm going to be replacing the tires on my IS and I'm looking at Sumitomo HTR Z III, BFG g-Force Sport or the Potenza RE760.

My coworker liked the traction of the BFG KDWs, but was always complaining about the noise.

There are no Calif. smog legal headers for the IS, so it automatically fails visual during smog check.

i never had noise problems, and mine were hella wide!
but im use to a lifted jeep on some thick 15/32 inch tread worn lol

and Sumitomo ? really? those are the biggest POS tires out the market

nobody likes them at all, like i said im a mustang guy and only time you get sumitomo is if you NEED something thatll hold air Sumitomo, Goodyear Eagle, Continental, Nitto, BFG in that order as far as performance, continental makes excellent tires, had them on my 02 ranger from factory and they lasted forever, and had a set on my 99 mustang the conti somethings.. and they worked well in the rain, but they just made a lot of noise in corners.. and they lasted forever!

Its up to you, but 145$ a piece for the BFG KDW youll love them i promise

Personally, I would go with a tire that has a warranty. softer tires are fun as heck with great traction and everything, but no bueno if youre going to have to replace them every year and a half.

It is difficult i think to get a great all around tire. I live in New Mexico, so we have hot weather for around 7 months of the year, rain for about a month or 2 and cold weather with ice and snow for the other 3. I used to have the Falken 512 on my MR2 turbo. even in the winter they were greta, BUT OF COURSE YOUR DRIVING STYLE COMES INTO PLAY obviously you cant do the same driving in the winter as in the summer even with drag radials which are the stickiest...... in the summer.
