Whats up CL,
So yesterday i went to go turn my key in the ignition and it snapped..
do i have to get one off ebay? or i would perfer to get one straight from lexus if i can later this week after school if they sell just the shells and how much it would be
its a pain to hold all the parts together and i would like to get it replaced soon

this and the ones off ebay can i swap my already cut key into it or do i have to recut the new attatched one?

 

you can swap over your already cut key, but if you would like you can have it cut and keep the blank in your wallet as a spare.

 

ebay, just switch it all over. You might have to have it cut again but a locksmith can do that

you can do a switch blade mod off of ebay. had mine for a year with no issue. downside its just bulky. gl

 

What is transponder, you mean the remote?? my is broken too and ordering from ebay for a replacement.

I had mine replaced under warranty and it seems like the replacements ones are made of a stronger plastic. Been using mine for 3 years now with no sign of cracking. But I hold mine at the base very securely when using it.

 

Mine had a large crack and every time I turned it, the key felt like it was going to come out. I had it replaced. Bought a gold key on eBay for cheap (longer shank than OEM). Got the cutting done at a Lexus dealership.
