Also, taking a VIN into Canada and then trying to cross the border and pretend like it's some regular "US" car all along......yea, you do realize the border patrol people aren't stupid right? That's a quick and easy ticket to jail right there, hands down. And that's considered a FEDERAL offense, what's up instant prison time?! Besides, most Canadian's know better than to sell to an American, when a Canadian sells their car to someone, they have to fill out a document that states they sold the vehicle and who they sold the vehicle to, then submit it to the Canadian DMV(or whatever they call it there) if they dont submit that form, they continue to get taxed on the registration. And even if the car has a VIN, attempting to bring a car into the US by a US citizen is considered "importing a vehicle".

Getting a front clip from an Altezza and swapping the firewall to convert it to right hand drive is the easiest, fastest, and cheapest way. Importing vehicles is very expensive, importing vehicles to be used on public roads is god AWFUL expensive, and attempting to bring one in by some "loophole" is riddled with possibilities of prison time. If you get an Altezza front clip and just do a right hand drive conversion alone would be ok, you'd just have the frustration of putting the master window controls in the hands of the front passenger until its fixed by buying the front right hand drive door panels and then continuing on wiring wise.

WHICH by the way, the wiring mess to doing a right hand drive conversion on an IS300 would be hilariously awful, unless the person doing it is paid handsomely for what would soon be many many hours of diagrams, soldering, etc. (this being after the many many hours a welder would be spending to remove engines, pricisely cut both firewalls in the exact same spots, rewelding right hand drive firewall to IS300, and then putting dash, engine, etc all back together)

Cliffnotes: there is absolutely no reason to convert an IS300 to an Altezza unless you just really do have that much money burning a hole in your account. You want a 4 door right hand drive rear wheel drive car that bad? Go out, and keep your eyes peeled for someone selling a jzx chassis or already right hand drive converted US car thats in the states somewhere already. You'll save yourself a lot of grief and anxiety if you buy a car already in the states somewhere.
