Rough 02 Sportcross or 99 prelude?

Hello guys.. New around here.

Iv been searching for a low mileage honda station wagon for a long time and found this..

http://charlottesville.craigslist.or...447955254.html

He sent me pics of the damage and its pretty rough. Dent in the hood and hatchback. Major curb check cosmetic damage on the rims. Front bumper shifted 1/4", broken mount, and the paint has seen much better days. Frankly, Perfect! I like the body condition because I don't really pay much attention or worry about how my cars look. Its a tool. I do on the other hand I take meticulous mechanical care of my cars. Or have my mechanic do the things I don't feel comfortable doing. I know this sportcross would serve me well.

But I also found this..

Its very nice and clean. Local. Almost to clean to sit outside in the driveway. I keep my bikes in the garage. Not one dent and low miles as well.

I think I can talk the lexus owner down to around 7K due to the damage but I would have to ship it. I would have to ship any low mileage honda wagon or travel. I can talk the prelude owner down to $5500 but its not the wagon I wanted. Which car would cost me less to maintain not considering the fuel.

Thanks

your looking for a wagon?...sportcross

I'm considering the sportcross wagon. But I cant afford a clean one, nor want to be worried about its appearance if something happens which it will. The one in the first link would be perfect since it rough, but low mile. Im a bit concerned it might have been mechanically neglected though.

I did find a rust free local Honda wagon but it has over 220K on it for $1500.

It depends on what you want the car for. Both cars have great engines. However they are complete opposites. What do you mean something will happen? Body work isn't that bad. Also mechanically neglected may not always be terrible it just may take some time to get it back to where it should be. Since the Is300 is an n/a car you can always repair things, it's not like it has a turbo which require crazy maintenance.

Btw where are you located in Iowa, I'm in CR.

I mean someone will back into it. Or my kayak will nick the paint. Im pretty rough on my cars. And Iv owned new cars and was upset when "something happened"

Im worried about buying a car unseen. The only way I trust doing that is contact a mechanic in that area and pay him to check it out. Then arrange shipping.. crazy huh. Im that adamant about a low mile Jap Wagon. I even stuck my name and number under the wiper of a super clean camry wagon I saw today. Looked like a 89 or 90 maybe.

Hey neighbor! Im in Iowa City.
