I know its a dumb questions but my friend said it could be done but i didnt believe so i had to ask.

Some people say that there is no such thing as a dumb question but this is one of them. Trying to fit a square block in a round hole that is smaller than the block, yeah good luck with that

a 17in tire WILL NEVER fit on a 18in rim, no matter how hard you try. 17 =/= 18, 18=18, 17=17.
