'02 IS300 Sportcross owner of two years, suggestions on spiffing it up?
I'm new to the forums, but it seems that you guys have a pretty nice community here.
As the title suggests, I purchased an '02 with about 77k miles. The car has been an absolute dream other than replacing the 02 sensors, but I'm looking to do minor modifications. I'm new to this whole process and would greatly appreciate any input.
1. The paint job is pretty worn out: there are minor scratches just about everywhere and some of outside layer of the paint (?) is peeling. I did my own amateur detailing, but a lot of the marks still show. Would a paint job be worth it?
2. How do I disassemble the headlights to defog/clean the insides?
3. Where could I look to replace the rims with newer Lexus stock rims?
Thanks again.

your headlights are not fogged on the inside, you need to restore the outside. Any paint shop can polish them up or you can buy a DIY kit, like Mothers/ Turtle wax, etc...
As far as paint job are concerned i am super picky. I nit pick at my IS300 all the time, the previous owner paid 1200, its ok but not something I would have done myself. A "good" paint job IMO is 4k, they remove all body panel, moldings, etc... to get it all done right with no over spray, something I have on the supra. I mean the IS300 looks good and most people cant tell, but I can.
For rims I would look on craigslist, they pop up from time to time for cheap.

Welcome, I think you want OEM style modding, just get a K&N fipk intake, or drop in filter that you can find at any auto parts store, get some 2nd gen IS wheels and if you want to lower, get some eibach springs, small 1 inch drop and good shocks from tire rack or your local auto parts store. the result is a sweet, and unique sportcross that will look factory!
