Default Tech Advise No Acceleration

I have an 01 IS 300 on my lot, it sometimes has a hard time starting and once it does it may stall. If I feather the gas I can keep it running... no skips or rattles and sounds fine. THe gas pedal feels as if it does not have any affect on the engine idle until it is depressed more than half way. This problem does not occur all the time. I have cleaned the thottle body and checked the throttle linkage. There are no obstructions or restrictions. New MAF sensor from known working car installed, no effect. Check engine light is not on. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Ron www.autoworldofconway.com

I'm thinking the same thing. If you decide to try an ECU it would have to only come out of an 01

Before going all the way to the ecu have u checked everything involved in the acceleration all relays and wires? It very well could be an ecu but I usually do a once over on everything even little stupid things can cause a huge problem. Like in the Nissans with fly by wire i had one that had a bad battery which wasn't allowing it to have acceleration almost tried to sell a whole throttle body lol even tho it's not a Nissan I'm just sayin lol gl lemme kno if u figure it out
