Hello everyone,

I actually have an E46 M3. A local guy ask me for a trade. I'm looking to do the trade ( I think i'll maybe regret it ).

The thing is that I really dont know anything about Toyota's car. Always had Audi,vw and Bimmer.

Is it reliable ? fast? the setup is good?
The guy told me that he bought the setup in a shop in W. DC.

So what I do? Should I take it ?

He ask $19 200.

Link Here

My actual car;

These cars will last forever.. I just got mine about a year ago, now it has 165,000 mi. and runs incredible. the previous owners did not even really try to take care of it, and all the 2 owners used was the cheapest gas they could find.

for speed, obviously its not going to be as fast as your "Bimmer" but for me its a quick little car that beats all the kids that "want" to race!

As for the setup, i'm only 16 so i'm not all techy, but from the loads of research i've done it can handle 350 hp very reliably on stock internals and tranny. So throw in a nice turbo, headers, exhaust, and you have an M3 competitor. Than some coilovers for the look!

Hope I helped a little. I absolutley love mine and mine is stock except for the n1 exhaust, but i've never driven a 04-06? m3 so I wouldnt know how to compare the two :/

I dont think thats a bad deal LexsIS300 didnt look at the link appparently seeing as its a 520hp boosted IS with forged internals, so it should be way more power than you will ever need and definitely dominate your M3.

From what the add says it all appears to be about right but seeing as there are no underhood pics i cant tell if its a ******** job or not. As long as you have receipts and proof that it does have forged internals that should be a great car. the hp isnt too much to be pushing the motor and should be able to be a daily if you wanted.

I would do it if it had all the info i just mentioned

You'd be a total idiot to give up an E46 for an IS. Plain and simple.

personally im not big on bmw's so id say do it just to get rid of the bmw lol jk. not saying beamers arent nice but ive always heard bmw=break my wallet. as long as the other car has an equal value of your then i would trade, if your car is worth more then determine how much more and if it still might be worth it for you to trade. also ask yourself why is this guy wanting to trade this nice "built" lexus for your beamer. just a thought....

I love IS300 & I actually agree with you

Look on KBB.com to see price differnce between the cars.
E46 M3 vert is a little more valuable than hard top a couple thousand extra I believe.

True the IS300 value is increased because it is boosted.
But that can also be what gives you lots of headaches in the future.

Not to mention Status... If you want to pick up chicks, stick with the M3 vert.

Also, coming to a IS300 forum asking if you should get an IS300 you will get bias answers.
That's like going to a Lancer Evo forum and asking if you should get an EVO or STI.
