Optima Yellow Top
Im looking to get an Optima Yellow Top battery. If anyone has one for the IS300, I would like to know what kind you have? Im looking to buy a new one.
I went to Schucks and Pepboys to see how much. But when they looked up my car. It only listed a Red Top. If worst comes to worst, I will just pick up a Red Top

when i had the yellow top in my lightning. i took it out to swap it in my lexus.. well the yellow top dont fit.. the cables are like to short... so i had to keep the yellow top in the lightning i sold and had the stock battery in IS300.
well.. eventually one day, ill get an upgrade battery.. cause i dont have enough power pushing my amp and subs.

i have a yellow top in my is300, the harness is a lil short, but i just cut the tape that holds the wiring in place near the firewall. no issues at all. i have a slightly smaller battery too since our battery size is fairly uncommon in stores =/

i think it's a marketing ploy more than anything. i had a yellow top in my truck before and i got no more "key off" time than any other battery. the red top has higher cold crank rating anyway. it's great if you have like 3 in your trunk and have to lay them sideways or whatever, but other than that, i'd spend that extra $50 bux on something else.
If you don't have a aftermarket sound system I suggest going with the red top. The yellow top would over power your car. You can make it fit with the cap the Optima batteries come with by putting it under the battery.
Well, I could go with yellow or red top. Since my engine bay is going with the red/silver/black theme
But, Im thinking of something with a High CCA's. Since I dont really want a battery that isnt chargeable, once its dead. And Optima's are not rechargeable.
Sears, here I come
