Try an intake by either SRT (Swift Racing Technologies) or Area 51. Both have piggy-back ECUs that tweak the OEM A/F ratio.

An exhaust like the 5Zigen, HKS Hiper or Greddy results in decent power gains.

With both mods look to spend about $650 for the intake and between $275 for rear section exhausts and about $500 for full catbacks (Greddy).

Does that 14.6 include the stop at the dealer to get your car fixed when it breaks?

How about the second stop to get it fixed right when they screw it up the first time?

Sorry... real life examples from SEVERAL of my BMW-driving friends. Nice cars, nice styling, great handling, good performance. Poor poor quality, reliability and service. I know this topic has been beat to death on other forums.... I'll stop here.

Kenny, please go over to bimmer.org and hang out with your friends, stop spamming us. If you're here to participate and learn, great and welcome! If you're only a flamer, go away.

Davegs4 - Kenny ? Am i missing something here ?

Alexander - How much faster you wanna go ? IMHO exhaust is just for looks and noise . Not much hp there . Intake and ecu will give you more than the exhaust . If i had to pick one , i would pick the intake/w ecu . Exhaust and intake / w ecu will probably only take .5 ( i'll bet not even that much ) off your 1/4 times.

www.swiftracing.com if you wanna check out there intake/ecu . Installation is a breeze with simple hand tools and if you know how to solder .

1niceride:

Sorry for what now looks like a weird reponse!

Yes, you're missing a couple of posts that a new member named "Kenny Rogers" entered last night, including a responce in this thread talking big smack about the IS vs BMW ...

I assume a moderator (justifiably) deleted it and all traces of the now defunct Mr. Rogers.

Thanks, moderator - absolutely the right move.
