1. Open the trunk. Remove enough of the plastic screws so that if you folded the carpet back, you could gain access to the lights. About nine screws should do it. To remove them you can stick screwdriver in one of the sides and just kind of pull it out. These screws do not really screw in; they just pop in and out.

2. The "girlfriend release" lever in green has a piece of plastic around it that needs to be removed before you can pull back the carpet. This plastic piece holds the carpet to the trunk. If you look closely around the lever, there are two little slits and one larger one. Stick a screwdriver in the two little slits and pull on the plastic. This removes two of the four edges of the plastic. You have to figure out how to remove the other two...it's too hard to explain. They work the same way, but there are no slits to release them.

3. Now on to the lights. There are four gold colored nuts that need to be removed. Two are part of the lock. The other two are on the sides.

4. If you look inside the trunk to the back of the bumper lights, you will see a white one way plastic piece. Push your screwdriver on this piece and pull on the license light cover at the same time. This releases the white piece. Repeat on the other side and the cover will come off completely.

5. You see two license light assemblies. To gain access to them, you need to push the assembly towards the center of the car and pull towards you. The whole assembly will come out.

6. You can now twist the bulb out of the assembly and put in the bulb of your choice.
