Question 2011 RX450H Recommendations

I am looking at purchasing a 2011 RX450h with 58k miles for 16k seems clean are there any concerns I should have with how old it is. I have read a bunch of threads and it seems to be hit and miss.

One can apply statistics on things that roll off an assembly line. Once it is driven then how it used and taken care off impacts road worthiness down the road.
Has the vehicle as been garaged or parked under open sky?
Check the maintenance history.
Check the condition of other vehicles the owner has.
Have the vehicle inspected by a trusted mechanic.
RX is pretty common vehicle so there would be plenty to chose from. So wait for the right one and offer a fair price.

It's a great deal for those less miles. Go register yourself on Lexus Drivers website. It'll give you a complete maintenance history of the car.

Check hybrid battery state of charge. That's abvout all concern you should have. I'd never buy a hybrid without that tested.

Can you please explain a little more. The charge status goes from low to mostly full and at times 100%. I sense there is a bias that prevents 100% charge all the time.
Are you referring to an extensive cell by cell test?

Low mileage is great especially for the ICE components in this particular situation because the car isn’t terribly old *as long as it’s been properly maintained. The battery is a different story if it’s original, don’t assume it will last another 150,000 miles just because it has low miles now - time is a huge factor with batts. It could need to be replaced at any time just the same as an example with 160,000 miles.

You should be factoring the cost to have the battery replaced when buying this car. Is the price too high at that point? To me $16k seems like an ok deal, in general these cars are over priced but I’ve seen higher mileage for higher prices. Just don’t think you’re avoiding the battery issue by purchasing a lower mileage hybrid. It’s still a 10 year old hybrid.

I love the RXh and it is an amazing car to me, it would just be a shame if your expectations weren’t met. It’s worth it to me because I love the RX450h and I’m prepared to spend $$ on it. Not everybody is and if that scares you then go for an RX350.

If you go for it get the car checked out FIRST even if it’s at a dealer. The RX is statistically one of the most common vehicles to have hidden body work and who knows what else.

Mine is a '12 and have had it about a year. I haven't had any problems Mine was a fleet car and has dents on the wooden part of the wheel along with scratches for opening the door.
Apparently a risk you take when a person with long nails and plenty of rings drives the car.
The other thing about these Hybrids is if you buy one of these its highly unlikely your going to beat on it. If you do then you won't get the mileage you wanted by buying one. So I doubt many have been beaten on.

I purchased a 2010 with 60K miles in 2016 for 25K, best decision in car buying I've ever made. It now has 130K miles on it and I've had no issues with the drive train or batteries.
