2014 ES300h LED headlights

We have a 2014 ES300h and one of the LED low beam headlights isn't working. It looks like a sealed unit and I don't see how I can replace just the bulb. (And yes--the low beams are definitely LED.)

We bought the car used and it came with the Lexus Platinum warranty--which covers things like the headlight relay but not the bulb. We've got the car at the dealer with the hopes that it's something that will be covered under that fancy warranty. If not, it looks like having the dealer replace the sealed unit could be around $1500. Anyone had any experience here--getting the headlight replaced under warranty or a DIY replacement with parts from Ebay?

Thanks.

As far as I can tell, the low-beam headlights are not LED's but rather Optional HID's. The daytime-running-lights are LED's.

Bylan is exactly right--it is an HID headlight so the bulb is replaceable. For some reason I can't find an aftermarket bulb listed anywhere but at least it's not an entire assembly.

There are many sources for a replacement bulb - such as https://www.carid.com/oracle-lightin...654604069.html. This was just one quick place I checked so I do not know if the price is competitive. It sounds pretty high to me...

I just replaced the HID bulbs in my 2015 ES. They are D4S type HID bulbs. Lightwerkz or The Retrofit Source is a good place to get them. Make sure you replace both the left and right sides do you have the same color and light output. You only have to twist and remove the back circular cover to access the bulbs. Getting them out and especially back in can be super tricky and frustrating. Consider having the dealer do the replacement.

So what is the verdict on this?

My headlight is sealed (no twist cap) for the low beam headlight. I am thinking it is LED after all. I can't believe they expect you unseal the headlight just to change a bulb.

Oh I didn’t realize this post was titled 2014 ES..

My car is a 2016 ES 350 Luxury Edition. I think mine is LED.

You should be able to access the headlight bulb. I have a 2014 es 350 and replaced my low beam headlights with LED lights. Here is a video I watched to help me do it, hope this helps.

2013 ES300h here with 238k miles

Im about to replace the HID on my driver side.

Unlike the passenger side, the driver side looks tight as FCK. Almost no room to remove back end cap, etc.

I see someone posted the front bumper and front fender protector has to be removed, so the headlight assembly can be taken out to access the back, that is crazy!

I will update soon.

Got it done today, tight as hell. Passenger side alot easier, clips still a pain in the ass. Kudos to my mechanic who helped on the driver side line the bulb in correct position the reapply the stupid spring, before twisting the power cap/cord back on,

While we were there I adjusted the Passenger side headlight higher since factory always have the headlights aiming LOW.

Did they had to remove the front bumper to replace the driver side bulb?

Would also like to know. MY 2014 ES300h just recently had the driver side go out. I was planning to take a look tomorrow when I have some time.
