Default reset the Idle Speed Control

I have reset the Idle Speed Control as per instructions in this forum. BUT notice that in town my ice kicks in at 18 mph. Thought it was not supposed to kick in till closer 25-40mph. Thoughts

On further reading in these forums found I did not get my ICE up to operating temp of 181* before I did the reset. Still I got 20 to 30% better mpg but ICE still comes on at 18mph instead of much higher around town. Will try it again correctly by driving on ICE to get temp up then do the manual reset and report back.

It's not just speed that determines when the ICE kicks in. Other operating conditions are at play as well. You also have to accelerate gently enough to keep it all electric -- too slow for me in most cases aside from parking lot/garage maneuvering. In other words, it's certainly possible to run all-electric up to 25 mph but it's also very easy to get the ICE to kick in before that. It doesn't sound like anything to worry about to me but that's just an uneducated guess.
