Hi guys i wasnt sure if there was a thread for this but i was curious to know what everyone else is getting for fuel economy.
I drive about 75% city, mostly stop and go with short distances. Im averaging about 29MPG and considering im doing short distances with engine usually cold im impressed with this number. During traffic i keep it in eco, if at night or little traffic ill have it in normal or sport. What are you guys getting? are you driving it hard? what setting and in what kind of driving? sorry again if there is already a thread for this. would love to hear what you guys have to say.

I average somewhere around 28-29 when driving mainly city mines. I have a heavier foot and love to lay down some power every so often. Even after driving really hard, I have yet to see below 27 mpg.
If I get more highway or completely highway, you'll see the average creep up toward 32. If I have a long stretch of flat road, it will get over 32 mph. I made a recent trip from Austin to Dallas (quite flat in between) and I was traveling 75 mph (so nothing slow at all).. I averaged over 32.5 mph. Of course, you want to make sure your tires are properly inflated as well.
In regard to driving modes, I stay in Sport or Sport plus.. I love the instant torque off the line. If I'm in bumper to bumper traffic or going for a long stretch in a speed restricted area of less than 40 mph, I will switch over to Eco mode.
31MPG (7.6L/100km) mixed city and highway so far. I track using the actual fuel used at the pump and odometer readings. The mileage gauge reads high though, says I was getting 33MPG.
More city driving in my current tank so getting 29MPG (8.1L/100km) instead (after adjusting for gauge inaccuracy).

I actually havent gotten a GS450H yet i am still looking was just curious to know what others are getting prior to purchase.
My wife averaging 26mpg as dashboard says mostly stop & go, a little hwy... never really tried to see how many miles on full tank. Seems like other guys do have better mileage. Does it mean batter is dying and need more charge effecting mileage? just curious
No that's normal if you're doing lots of stop and go driving. I find that hilly stop and go driving as well as short trips makes the MPG plunge.
yes that is true mostly because by the time is warmed up you tunn off the car. Cars do better the longer the distance. The battery does not need to be charged because this is not a plug in. It will automatically recharge itself through breaking or the generator. If i am correct, lexus has set the system up so that when you break it tries to absorb as much kinetic energy as possible in the rear wheels where the regenerative brakes are.
My overall average over 23,000 miles is 31.4mpg on flat florida roads. Almost always in normal mode, taking foot off gas when approaching traffic light and very little braking. Best millage is during residential driving between 35 to 50mph with few stops.
I averaged 35.7mpg from Virginia to NY including about 35 minutes of traffic in eco mode. I always drive in eco mode unless I want to have some fun in Sport or Sport+. I find eco to be more than sufficient for normal driving. I usually average 27-28mpg with mixed city/highway local driving.
The long-term average on my 2013 450GSh is 31mpg (7.6l/100km at the pump, 7.4l/100km on the dash like the pic attached) over 41,000km of 50/50 hwy/city driving in Greater Toronto traffic (which is one of the worst in North America)
Last trip I just returned from (Toronto-1000 islands and back for Canada day weekend - imagine hwy401 traffic )) had roughly 500 miles (800km) with an average of 39mpg (6.1l/100km)- 99% highway with ECO mode and A/C on. Remaining range is a bit over 200km - which means about 1,000km or 620 miles on this last tank - which for the size/power of this car I find very very good

Still some juice left from this tank - a bit over 200km which means approx. 1,000km (620miles) per tank

What is that additional pod on the steering wheel ? Looks like an IR receiver?
