I purchased Aisin TKT-026 water pump and timing belt kit from Amazon. My tech (who I have used several times before) says these are not OEM parts and the "Mitsubishi" belt is not OEM. He says these are low quality parts and wont last as long as OEM parts. I am totally baffled. I thought these were OEM parts?

your tech is wrong....I have used these kits twice, once on a Sequoia and once on my RX400h. They are same or better and very reliable.

Some mechanics fail to recognize parts as OEM unless it is clearly labeled and packaged as such. But, rest assured the Aisin kit is up to the task, and the parts are OEM. Aisin manufactured the original water pump.

And, while he has a point here.... OEM timing belt was made by Mitsuboshi! Slight difference in name.
