Will it be kept in a garage or outdoor? If indoor, hook the battery up to a charger (I have a Noco G3500, but any smart charger will do). If outdoors, you can get one of those solar chargers and leave it attached to the battery. I use this for my cars that sit outside and it works very well.

Your inverter will not be damaged. Some people go on longer than 4-5 months without driving and their vehicle starts up fine so long as the 12v has enough charge.

EDIT: Also, disconnect the negative terminal on the 12v battery to prevent the car from drawing power.

Default Extended Layup for 2013 RX450h

Thanks for the responses regarding battery layup. The car will be stored indoors. I checked with the dealer and a neighbor who is much more versed in car mechanics than I am. They both recommend that I put the 12-volt battery on a battery tender. I bought a good tender from Amazon.

As an aside, the dealer recommended that I pressurize the tires to the maximum pressure specified on the tires. The dealer emphasized that I should bleed the air pressure somewhat when I return, before I drive the car.

One other question for the forum. I cannot easily purchase ethanol free gasoline in the area where I live. I plan to fill the tanks of our two cars with 91 octane gasoline. Does the forum recommend that I add fuel stabilizer to my gasoline?
