A question for ES300h owners: Has the smaller trunk space caused you any problems or issues? Obviously bigger would be better, but it isn't going to get any bigger so I'm trying to see whether anyone has had problems accommodating the smaller size. Other than ensuring that suitcases fit, it's hard to tell how it will be BEFORE you own it.

Not an issue, probably would not realize it without the ES 350 comparison.

 

It should be noted that, not only does the ES300h have less available trunk space than does the ES350, but, with the hybrid, you also lose the pass through from the trunk into the passenger compartment. While I don't need to use it often, I find having the pass through very welcome on those rare occasions when I need to carry a longer (and skinny) object in the vehicle.

What I don't like about the trunk of either the ES300h or the ES350 is not so much the space available, but the fact that the trunk opening is noticeably smaller than was the trunk opening on my previous ES. The small trunk opening can make it a challenge to get taller objects into the trunk even when they would easily fit into the trunk itself.

 

The reduced trunk size of the ES300h was my biggest concern. My dealer let me drive the car home where I test fit the reclining chair we Take with us on vacation. I found I could fit it if I rotated it 90 degrees so it will be possible to fit but less convenient. With my previous ES330 everything fit easily and now I have some doubts but I am still pleased with the ES300h so I will work it out somehow. Since there are just two of us on trips the increased space in the rear seat area provides a reasonable alternative.

 

Same here, different "Test". Once I was home, I put the wifes' and My Golf Clubs, in the trunk. This Trunk swallowed them up with ease!! My new ES300h, is now in L.A., bound for Scottsdale, AZ. Supposed to be the LAST ES300h w/ ULP & Panoramic Roof. Time will tell, CAN'T wait!!

 

It would be the ONLY 300h with a panoramic roof.

You're NOT getting it, so don't get your hopes up.

 

so far, anything that couldn't fit in the trunk fit in the back seat.

I could see it being an issue with a family on vacation. w/ luggage.

Good enough volume for 99.9% of my needs.

 

Mine passes the "golf bag" test - but leaves room for only a small roller bag and some soft gym sided bags. I agree with one person's post: You have to compare the ES 350 side by side with the ES300h to notice the difference.

 

No problem but with so much room, the back seats are my backup.
