Buy or Pass? 2007 Gs450h 115k miles
Hey guys, In need of some advice. I am looking to purchase a 2007 GS450h. I saw one for sale that has 115k miles and the asking price at the dealer is right at 18k. For some reason the price was increased from 17 to 18k and the main thing I am worried about is the hybrid battery. I'm pretty inexperienced when it comes to hybrids but I drove the car and everything seems to work fine from what I can tell and it drives excellent. What really caught my attention was when I looked up the service history for the car on the lexus site I can see on 6/26/13 the lexus dealership recommended hybrid battery replacement and the quoted price is $5900 according to the service record report. My question is how would you all approach this situation? Im sure the car is outside of the warranty period for the battery replacement since the car is at 115k miles on the odometer. Would you still entertain this or walk away? I need some advice! Thanks!
