Black Wheels on the Lexus ES300h?

Do they need a touch of grey?

Mike728 Apr 6, 2013 05:50 PM

Are they powder coated?

foregutdoc Apr 6, 2013 05:54 PM

yes. i detested the factory installed pale gray. I was also a little disappointed that the hybrid drivetrain does not accommodate 18" wheels.

Needs something. Wheels are too... black.

I don't know where you got your info but the hybrid can wear wheels bigger than 17"; look at LexRuger's car (although his is a 350). Also, I agree with Lex. These wheels in 20" or 22" would look great on your car.

And if you really want to set it off. Put your name on the list on the 'BC Coilover' thread.

Oh yeah, welcome to the club :)

Thanks Kenny,

I was told by the dealership that the hybrid takes only 17" nothing higher. the ES 350 however does have the option of upgrading to 18" wheels. 20" on mine would be great if not unobtainable. I hope you can tell me that Im wrong :)

I actually have 20s on my 300h (black wheels) and it rolls perfectly.

I'm sure they were referring to their option list, as the 300h only has 17's available. Probably for MPG claim reasons.

Funny thing is you can find lighter wheels in sizes 19 and 20 inch than the stock 17 inch. Try TSW Interlagos or Nurgburging, if you don't have Vossen money laying around. I went with Avant Garde forged.

Thanks for your suggestions danolo. I need to look into this. First need to convince the wife that they are essential...

TSW Interlagos 16.85lbs.
TSW Nurburgring 17.55lbs

Both are 17" x7.5" sizes

What is the tint % on your windows foregutdoc?

It looks good to me but appears as it may be a little too dark for me and the state regs here in MN. I pick up my car this week and will get the tint done late this week or early next.

Also please tell me what brand tint...thanks!
