GS 450h MPG
What have you "H" owners has been getting? I have been only getting 21.x mpg for the last 5 tanks. I drive my car very moderately without any flooring the gas. Just want to know if the Electric motor is working properly.

First thing I would do is get some injector cleaner, and also make sure you air cleaner is clean. I use a K&N filter, not sure it was worth the $37 bucks I paid for it, but I do think it helped a little.

Do you coast often?
Do you make many cold starts? The GSh will get less MPG with constant driving, then parking, then driving, then parking.
City driving is not its best bet. 23 city, 25 highway. City driving can net 21 MPG, it happens to me sometimes.
I've used Chevron with Techron as an additive and I think it does help. I also use Shell gas only.
Just averaged 32 mpg from Atlanta to Jacksonville. It took one tank to go, one tank to return and it allowed me to drive around both cities, right under 420 miles in the tank and I had about 2 gallons left according to the pump.

We average around 28 MPG (my wife usually drives it) in mixed driving, 93 octane fuel. When we took it out to Nebraska this summer from Jersey, we averaged around 31 MPG. Overall, not bad for such a large car. The IS, on the other hand..

Weather for sure is not cold in Los Angles (it was 100 yesterday, in NOV!!!)
Like I said I don't drive my car hard. Maybe I should try the injection cleaner too. What else should I look at? Also, how fast does your battery get drain when you drive (to purple or blue)
Just want to know if it is an issue with my car because I cannot get to 22mpg.
My daily driving is 13 miles fwy and maybe 2 miles local streets to work and home, no traffic.

that's why I am wondering if anything is wrong with my vehicle. I am still getting 22 and I drive it pretty light.
Put in a big bottle of the Chevron Fuel System cleaner too.

6hr Road trip with 3 adults and 1 two year old. 29.5 MPG. Car was heavy with people and a packed trunk.
My city driving is averaging now to 27+ mpg. Here is what I'm doing.
~Car in manual shift mode. All "fun buttons" off.
~Keep the car in 6th gear (virtual gear )
~Leave from stops with the kW need never going above 50kW.
(I'm able to hover it around 25-30kW on takeoffs) At 60mph I'm able to run with the needle at 10-15kW
~Slowing down or stopping. Down shift to push the kW needle far into the blue. Battery stays green or high bar blue the entire time.
Try it, and post back here if it increases MPG for you.

I'm like GSLA in that I avg 21-22 mpg. I live in LA and on my normal commute to work, it's 15 miles each way - 10 miles fwy, 5 miles street. I'm reverse commute and don't hit traffic on the freeway (I avg 75 mph on the fwy).
And I generally drive like a grandpa...I rarely hammer the accelerator.
I was always astounded when I read here that others drive aggressively and get 25+ MPG!
Let me know what if anything you tried works.
