Default Low miles 2006 or high miles 2008

Hi,

We are considering to buy a used RX, is it advisable to buy low mileage (10k)2006 RX 400h or little high mileage(45k) RX 2008H for same price. 2006 was owned by a old guy so very low miles.

Thanks
Rubs

Depending on the condition of both vehicles and appointments, I'd probably go for the newer vehicle. 45k on a 5 year old car is not excessive or even average mileage. Generally, the average is considered to be around 12-15k a year. You gain a couple years longer battery coverage on the 08. The RX are pretty well built and the idea of them going 150-200k is not a stretch.

Oh, and welcome to the forum, Rubs65

It's a win on both cases. I would personally go lower mileage. Just check the records on both, see what the price difference is, see which has the options you have and go with that.

Thanks for the feedback.

Looks like 2006 was designed to come very loaded and have all leather, heated seats, mark audio system, traction control, navigation etc. 2008 have better navigation and does not have mark audio or heated seats.

Assuming both have good service records, what should be considered a good price and max price that we should pay for 2006 RX?

well now you can figure out what you like, and feel comfortable paying for the car. Like I said Id take low miles and clean bill of health over 2 years newer and 45k miles. Id pay 20k for the 2006

I doubt that they will come that low, so you think 24k is too high for 7 years old car with low mileage. Looks like edmunds(18.5k), kbb(26k), and nada(26k) are not able to estimate due to low mileage
