ES300h trunk / babe stroller
Searched and searched and searched....
I am thisclose to buying an ES300h, but I need to know if a baby stroller will fit in the trunk. That battery takes up 3 cubic ft! I appreciate any feedback. Thanks. |
It's been a long time since I pushed around baby strollers but I played golf today and I can easily get my golf cart and clubs (full set) into the trunk.

3CF is about the space of a couple of paper grocery bags (probably less). The storage area that you do loose is behind the rear seat anyway and would not have any impact of fitting a baby stroller anyway.
Why don't you just take a stroll down to your local dealer and see for your self. With your stroller, of course! |
If Nathan can fit in the trunk, I'm pretty sure you are good to go:
But yes, you lose depth not width due to the battery. The trunk space is nice and square so it is a very usable 12 cubic feet. |
This was also a concern of mine before purchasing an ES300h - but not for a baby stroller. Rather, two 26-inch luggage pieces fit just fine with room to spare.
As for the stroller, it would depend on the folded size - either measure it, or take it to the dealer and see if it fits. |
Take your stroller to the dealer to see if it will fit.

Thanks all for the feedback. If golf cart and clubs/bag can fit in there, I'm not worried then.
Haven't finalized a stroller yet that's why I can't bring one in to try out. LOL @Nathan fitting in the trunk. haha. yeah I saw their review and he looks about 6'1" 240+. Good point. Man...got an offer from a Lexus dealership for a Nebula/Black w/ Lux package and chrome wheels MSRP'd at $46,300 for $42,400. Deal sounded tempting but couldn't get any equity on my trade in and the ES300h is excluded from the 1.9% DTR promo. So I guess I'll wait for another good deal. Baby's due in June so I have time for some demo's to show up. Can't wait. Loved the ES. So much more refined than ever. |
Lightly used ES vehicles are already showing up at very favorable prices.

I have an Orbit Baby stroller, it fits perfectly in the truck. One thing i don't like on the seat though is the LATCH system. If you would have a chance to check the LATCH system of the CT200h it is better because the rear seat LATCH has a zipper. On the ES you have to insert the buckle in between the seats which creates this ugly curve the molds to the buckle. So when buying a car seat get the one with a flat hook type not the buckle type.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/--..._strapType.jpg https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-f..._rigidType.jpg See the difference on the lower photo? The buckle would have to go all the way in between the seats. The top photo, since it's flat it would just go through the seat cleanly. If only I could change the buckle on my car seat I would be so happy. |
I have read that the 2018 Camry hybrid will have the same trunk capacity as the gasoline model due to a redesign/reconfiguration of the battery. Would I be correct in assuming that the 2018 ES300h will get the same redesign?

The Camry gets its full vehicle redesign for the 2018 model year, but the ES (and the Avalon) will not be getting the full vehicle redesign until the 2019 model year. The 2018 ES will be virtually identical to the 2017 ES. |
