"Calibrate" fuel gauge
I always re-set my ODO and Cruise Range when I fill up. I've tried to determine how much gas I have left when the needle is on the last two ticks of the gauge. I think it's around 4-5 gallons. When the needle gets to this position the Cruise Range is around 60 miles. If I have 4-5 gallons left I would think that the remaining range has to be more than 60 miles. My "mileage after re-fueling" is around 26. Cruise Range should be 100 -125.
I heard that a warning light or message comes out when the tank gets really low but I haven't driven that low before. Is there a "safety" range excluded from the Cruise Range that comes into effect at some point when the tank get so low?
Your input appreciated.
