Anybody Try a K & N?
Just interested to see if anyone got one and noticed any fuel economy gains as a result.

They let too much dirt into the engine and can cause the mass air flow sensor to go bad. Stick with the factory filter in my opinion...

I've never had problem running K & N. Just don't clean them, discard them after 100k miles. Its still cheaper than replacing paper filters. The RX has a pretty nice filter screen behind the filter I noticed.

i wouldn't recommend a K&N..
and not clean it for 100,000 miles? I rather buy 4 cheap paper filters @ 25k miles each.. same cost.. cleaner air..
also those oils will get onto your MAF sensors.. did it to our Avalon and G35.. check engine lights came on, thank god, all i had to do is clean the MAF..
Never again...

K&n
I had K&N filters on my M3 and it royally screwed up the whole intake pipe and MAF sensor. The damned red oil would be sucked right off the paper and coat the inside of the intake box and maf sensor causing faults. Then the dirt would get stuck to the oil after spending 3 hours cleaning the entire intake tube and box I ditched it and will never use them again. Stick to OEM filters its really not worth it to go after market.
